Weighted Lapghan: A Free Crochet Pattern

I have been holding on to this pattern for a while because my lens broke and haven’t been able to get any good pictures of the whole Afghan. But, I decided not to wait any longer and go ahead and post. This is a fairly simple pattern and it can be worked as big or small as you’d like with a little adjusting.

Bernat Blanket yarn, 5 big skeins
10mm hook
Large tapestry needles

SC-single crochet
DC-double crochet
4 groups(sc,dc) stitches across =4″
5 rows=4”

Pattern Notes:
This pattern uses the Suzette Stitch, which is made up of sc,dc in each sc. You can make this blanket as small or as large as you want by making a smaller or larger chain and working fewer or more rows. If you want to change the chain length make sure you chain a multiple of 2 and add 1 more chain for your turning chain.
Ch. 73.
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook. Dc in same stitch. Skip next ch. *Sc, dc in next stitch. Skip next ch. Repeat from * across to two last chains. Skip the 1st chain and sc in the last chain. Turn
Row 2: ch1.* Sc,dc in next sc. Skip dc. Repeat from * across to the last two stitches. Skip 1st stitch and sc in last stitch. Turn.
Row 3-55: Repeat row 2.
Fasten off. Weave in all ends.
