Faux Cabled Knit Headband-free pattern

Thank you for checking out my first published knitting pattern. This headband is quick to work up and uses less than a half a skein of yarn.I love how the pattern looks like complicated cables, but is really just made by passing slipped stitches and yarn overs. I would say this pattern is intermediate because of the stitches, but honestly I think a beginner could work this up.

I’m featured in the Design Create Repeat blog hop, go to this page to retrieve the coupon code for the free pattern.

Pattern:
cast on 17 stitches.
Row 1: *p 2, k3. Repeat from * to the last 2 stitches. P2.
Row 2: *k2, p3. Repeat from * to the last 2 stitches. K2.
Row 3: *p2, slip one stitch purlwise, k2, psso the two knit stitches. Repeat from * across to the last 2 stitches. P2.
Row 4: *k2, p, yo, p. Repeat from * across to the last 2 stitches. K2.
Repeat rows 1 through 4 for the stitch pattern.

Work this pattern until the strip measures 18 ½ inches long. Cast off. Steam block the piece or block using your favorite method. Once it has finished blocking, seam the two ends together with either the mattress stitch or whip stitch.

I hope you enjoyed this free pattern. Thank you for stopping by!
